Notice for Sri Lankan Nationals in Nepal

A sudden flash flood originating from the Tibetan side has entered Nepal via the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa district. The flood has caused significant damage to settlements in the Timure and Syabrubesi areas and is raising serious safety concerns along downstream sections of the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers.

All Sri Lankans currently travelling or residing in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan, or other areas along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river corridors are strongly urged to:

· Exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant at all times.

· Avoid travelling close to rivers, riverbanks, bridges, and low-lying areas.

· Follow all instructions and safety advisories issued by local authorities, security agencies, and the Tourist Police.

· Stay in safe locations and refrain from unnecessary movement until the situation becomes clearer.

· Maintain regular contact with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kathmandu, your hotel, trekking agency, guide, and local tourism operators.

· Check road conditions thoroughly before undertaking any onward journey.

· Do not attempt to cross flooded roads, streams, or rivers under any circumstances.

· Move immediately to higher and safer ground if instructed by local authorities.

For Those Planning Travel:

· Postpone all travel to the affected districts until official sources confirm that road conditions are safe and the flood threat has subsided.

· Do not proceed toward any affected destination until further notice.
